Academic Progress

Families learn about their students’ academic progress through grades, report cards, academic assessments, and feedback from teachers.

If you have general questions about learning standards and assessments for students in grades k-12, you can find short handouts that describe learning standards and testing for each grade k-12, in multiple languages, from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)You can also find detailed information about all of Washington State’s learning standards in the Student Success section of OSPI’s website.

A student’s academic progress can be influenced by many different things, including access to instruction, appropriate supports for a student with a disability, access to English language instruction for a student learning English, and safety in the classroom and school (being free from bullying and harassment). If you have questions about one of these issues, you can find resources on our website.
