Stephanie Palmquist is the Media & Database Coordinator and the Public Records Officer for the Office of the Education Ombuds (OEO). She has worked with OEO since 2014. She oversees OEO's website content, social media, publications, translations and news bulletins. Stephanie also oversees OEO's public records and retention schedule, and is the primary contact for public records requests. Stephanie is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (certified by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) and works closely to ensure accessibility across OEO's media platforms. Stephanie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. She majored in Spanish and Studio Arts with an emphasis on Photography, Film and Video Production. She spent several years supporting local government and public education awareness through media production with both the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Public Schools.
Stephanie also has a TEFL/TESL Certificate, and has spent over ten years teaching English as a foreign language in several countries including South Korea, Mexico, Spain and Kuwait. Her experiences living abroad and communicating with people who speak other languages enable her to view situations from multiple perspectives, as well as to be culturally sensitive.
Stephanie has completed Basic Mediation Training with the Dispute Resolution Center of King County. Stephanie has several years experience talking with families about situations in schools, and helping them navigate through processes to ensure that students have the best possible experience at school. Stephanie speaks Spanish.
