Rose Spidell Bio
Rose Spidell works as a Senior Education Ombuds with the Office of the Education Ombuds (OEO). Rose joined OEO in 2012, drawn by the collaborative nature of the work bringing together families and schools in support of students. In her role at OEO, Rose works directly with families, educators, community professionals and other government agencies to find solutions to support students.
Rose grew up in the Northeast corner of Washington State. From there, she gradually moved further afield, completing her undergraduate degree in Walla Walla at Whitman College, working in Japan, studying in Guatemala, and earning her law degree at New York University School of Law. Rose feels fortunate to bring the things she learned back home, and to use her education to help make sure the doors to learning are open to others.
